Appointment Letter of ‘Fake Agency’ DG Doctored, House Committee Declares in Report

The House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) has declared that the purported letter of appointment for its Director General, Mr. Adeniyi Adeyemi, was doctored. Evidence from State House revealed that no such appointment was made or approved by the presidency.

The committee examined documents purporting to be official communications from the presidency and Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. However, they found that Gbajabiamila neither issued nor signed the letter, and the letterhead was not authentic. The committee determined that the purported appointment letter, along with a communication approving the take-off of an unestablished organization and an alleged Executive Order, were fabricated and falsely attributed to the presidency.

Such conduct, if proven through criminal means, would constitute a severe attack on the integrity of the presidency and the federal government's official identity. The unlawful creation or deployment of such documents, aimed at representing the President or Chief of Staff as authorizing appointments to head non-existent federal institutions, is not a mere administrative error.

Instead, it deserves the utmost attention from investigative and prosecutorial bodies. The fabrication of an Executive Order, representing the authority of the Nigerian President, is an exceptionally grave matter. Any attempt to manufacture such an instrument for official recognition, financial benefit, or public support undermines the foundation of lawful executive authority.
