Amazon Prime Video unveils 27-game ‘Wednesday Night Hockey’ schedule

Amazon's Prime Video has revealed the lineup for its inaugural season of "Wednesday Night Hockey." The 27-game package kicks off on September 30 with the Toronto Maple Leafs facing off against the New York Islanders. Seven Canadian teams are featured, with Montreal leading the pack at seven games, followed by Toronto with six and Edmonton with five.

Calgary, Winnipeg, and Ottawa each make four appearances, while Vancouver features twice. Notable matchups include Brady Tkachuk's return to Ottawa for a game against the Florida Panthers on October 21 and a Battle of Alberta between the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames the following week. The games will be available in English and French to Prime subscribers in Canada at no extra charge.

This arrangement is part of a 12-year sub-licensing deal between Prime Video and Rogers, which also grants the streaming service the rights to broadcast two Stanley Cup playoff first-round series and one second-round series annually.
