Kalyan-Titwala Local Services Disrupted Due To Railway Block, Trains Delayed Nearly An Hour

Kalyan witnessed disruptions to suburban train services on Thursday due to a special railway block for platform extension work at Titwala station. Commuters traveling on the Kalyan-Titwala route faced delays of up to an hour, causing inconvenience to thousands of passengers. The issue was especially noticeable at Ambivli and Dombivli stations, where protesters gathered outside station master's offices to voice their frustration with the railway officials.

Passengers alleged that they were not adequately informed about the altered train schedules, leaving them stranded on platforms without clear information about their onward journeys. In response to the protests, Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police personnel were deployed to de-escalate the situation. The Central Railway explained that the block was necessary to extend and upgrade Titwala station's platform to accommodate longer trains.

However, passengers questioned the lack of timely communication during the disruptions, emphasizing the importance of clear announcements and real-time updates, particularly during peak hours.
