AJK PM orders bureaucracy to gear up for 100-day reform agenda

Muzaffarabad: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Iftikhar Gillani instructed government officials to prepare for the implementation of the 100-day reform agenda on Wednesday. The prime minister emphasized that his top priority was to introduce systemic reforms to alleviate the hardships faced by common citizens and generate new opportunities.

Speaking at his inaugural meeting with government secretaries at the Prime Minister's Secretariat, Gillani made it clear that his government's primary objective was to serve the people, and its performance would be evident "on the ground."

"Our foremost priority is to bring reforms to the system, create ease for the common man, and generate new opportunities," Gillani stated, stressing that the government would tackle the challenges facing the state with the cooperation of the bureaucracy. He highlighted the critical role of the administrative machinery in converting government policies into tangible results and urged collective efforts from all involved.

Gillani affirmed that the government would offer all necessary assistance to officials to deliver meaningful reforms and enhance public service delivery. Unemployment was identified as a major challenge in the state, and Gillani announced plans to launch a youth engagement program and demand-based skills development initiatives in the social sector. He also assured relief to people in transport and healthcare services, promising to address their difficulties on a priority basis.

The prime minister reiterated the government's commitment to translating its reform program into actionable measures and making its impact visible to the public. The 100-day agenda underscored the seriousness of the party's central leadership towards AJK. Additionally, Gillani attended briefings from Chief Secretary Khushal Khan and Inspector General of Police (IGP) retired Capt Liaqat Ali Malik regarding the organizational structures of the Services and General Administration Department and the police department, respectively.

The IGP provided an update on the department's performance, future needs, and the overall law and order situation in the territory. Upon his arrival at the Prime Minister's Secretariat, Gillani was warmly welcomed by his principal secretary and the secretariat's officers and staff.
