Premanand Maharaj Warned Hanuman Ansh Makers Against Distorting Facts About Neem Karoli Baba's Life

Vrindavan-based spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj addressed concerns over the film Hanuman Ansh, warning filmmakers against distorting the life of Neem Karoli Baba. During a satsang, Maharaj emphasized that portraying the revered saint’s life should be done respectfully, inspiring devotion, detachment and spiritual knowledge. When the Hanuman Ansh director Vishal Chaturvedi inquired about the possibility of making such a film, Maharaj’s response acknowledged the potential for service but stressed the heavy responsibility that comes with portraying saints and spiritual figures on screen.

Maharaj explained that the life of Neem Karoli Baba cannot be treated like an ordinary fictional story and that filmmakers must exercise caution to avoid creating a false impression of the saint. He cautioned that creative decisions aimed at increasing entertainment value or audience appeal could compromise the saint’s dignity. Maharaj further cautioned against introducing material solely to make a film more commercially appealing or socially popular, stating that a film’s deeper impact on the audience should be prioritized over box-office success or dramatic impact.
