The National Unity Ministry (KPN) has announced the National Merdeka Celebration Football Exhibition, which will showcase football as a symbol of unity among people of different races, religions, and cultures from October 31 to December 31. KPN explained that the four-month exhibition will be held at Gallery 1 of the National Museum in Kuala Lumpur, where football will be presented as part of the nation's historical journey, embodying nationalism, unity, and Malaysian identity.

Through this exhibition, visitors can learn about the history and development of football from pre-independence, its role during the struggle for independence, and its current status as the sport closest to the hearts of Malaysians.

The public has the opportunity to recall historic moments that shaped football's journey in the nation and appreciate the contributions of key figures who helped build the national football foundation along the path to independence, according to the statement. KPN Minister Aaron Ago Dagang emphasized that football is not merely a game, but a medium that unites the Malaysian people across races, religions, and backgrounds.

He noted that football has been part of the nation's social fabric since before independence, transcending race, religion, and background. The minister said that the sportsmanship built through football also reflects the struggle for independence and the love for the homeland, which are fundamental to the formation of a free nation.

The exhibition is open to the public for free from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the public is encouraged to explore the exhibition materials that highlight the history, development, and role of football in nation-building.
