KPN anjur Pameran Pesta Bola Merdeka hingga 31 Dis

Putrajaya: The Ministry of Unity (KPN) is organizing the Merdeka Sports Festival, which highlights football as a symbol of unity among diverse Malaysian citizens from various religions and cultures, from August 31 to December 31. KPN announced that the four-month-long exhibition will be held at Gallery 1 of the National Museum in Kuala Lumpur, aiming to promote football as an integral part of Malaysia's historical journey, fostering national pride, unity, and Malaysian identity.

Throughout this exhibition, the history and development of football will be showcased from pre-independence, its role during the struggle for independence, and its current status as the most beloved sport among Malaysians. The public will have the opportunity to witness pivotal moments in Malaysia's football journey and appreciate the contributions of significant figures who helped shape the nation's football culture during the struggle for independence, the statement said.

Minister of Unity, Aaron Ago Dagang, emphasized that football is not merely a game, but a medium that unites the Malaysian people regardless of their ethnicity, religion, and background. He noted that football has been an integral part of Malaysian society's heartbeat since before the country gained independence, transcending ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds.

According to the statement, the spirit of sportsmanship built through football also reflects the struggle and love for the homeland that forms the foundation of a free nation.

The exhibition is open to the general public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Malaysians are urged to explore the exhibition materials that highlight the history, development, and role of football in national and cultural building.
