NDC insists INEC replaced its candidates, demands electronic audit

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of replacing its candidates in Anambra State's House of Assembly elections. The party has demanded an immediate electronic audit of INEC's nomination portal to investigate the issue. According to NDC's Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, Agada Abuh Theophilus, the 10 names that appeared on INEC's published list were never submitted by the party and did not originate from its nomination and appeal process.

The disputed names include Onitsha South 1 – Umennaajiego Jude Ezenwa, Onitsha South 2 – Akpotue Obinna Chibuike, and others. NDC claims that the National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas, never uploaded the disputed names due to the backend officials keeping them on "Pending" status. The party asserts that INEC collected Form EC9 directly from the contested candidates, bypassing the party, and published the names as authentic NDC candidates, which is against the Electoral Act and INEC's guidelines. The NDC vows to pursue the matter until the situation is rectified.
