National Day fireworks to feature sun patterns

This year's National Day fireworks display will showcase various patterns of the sun, as it commemorates the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The 23-minute spectacle will be divided into eight segments, involving more than 30,000 firing shells in the skies above Victoria Harbour at 8pm on October 1.

The theme for this year is "Eternal Radiance Fireworks in Blossom, Illuminating our Country." According to Wilson Mao, CEO of Pyromagic Multimedia Productions, the second scene is the main highlight, featuring variations in the sun's pattern to symbolize warmth, energy, and hope. Nearly every scene this year incorporates sun-related messages.

The shapes used include smiley faces, hearts, and yellow five-pointed stars, all elements of the National Day celebration. Listeners can tune into RTHK Radio 4 for synchronized music during the show. The fireworks display is projected to cost around HK$18 million, similar to the expenditure of last year's event.
