Mazli Mustaffa appointed Rapid Rail CEO

Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd has announced the appointment of Mazli Mustaffa as its new CEO, effective September 1. The company revealed that Mustaffa brings an extensive 29-year career in the rail and engineering sectors, having worked in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. He has been instrumental in the development and implementation of numerous significant rail projects, including KL Sentral, the Rawang-Ipoh and Ipoh-Padang Besar double-track projects, Makkah Metro, the Kajang Line, the Putrajaya Line, and the Kuching Urban Transportation System.

Prior to joining Rapid Rail, Mustaffa served as the CEO of Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd, where he spearheaded the creation of Sarawak's inaugural urban public transport system, which is also Malaysia's first fully green public transport system. Rapid Rail affirmed that Mustaffa's knowledge in rail infrastructure development, system integration, and operations management will bolster the company's efforts to enhance its performance.

Rapid Rail emphasized that under the new leadership of Mustaffa, the company will persist in its focus on bolstering operational performance, elevating service reliability and safety, and refining customer experience. This appointment aligns with the company's dedication to delivering efficient, secure, and sustainable public transport services to fulfill the public's evolving mobility requirements.

The company further stated that Mustaffa's expertise will aid Prasarana Malaysia Bhd in increasing public transport ridership and fostering sustainable urban mobility.
