Leap 2026 day two sees over $2.5 billion in tech investments

The second day of Leap 2026 witnessed a flurry of major tech investments, surpassing $2.5 billion. These funds were allocated towards data centers, cloud services, technology localization, and research and development initiatives. Al Moammar Information Systems Company (MIS) spearheaded the day's announcements by investing $1.2 billion to expand data centers in the Kingdom, which will increase operational capacity to 192 megawatts. This investment aims to meet escalating demand for computing and AI services.

NHC Innovation committed $880 million to develop data centers in the Digital Khuzam Valley, targeting a capacity of 65 megawatts by 2033. Meanwhile, Vision Invest and Africa Finance Corporation led a $300 million strategic investment in WIOCC, aimed at enhancing digital infrastructure and connectivity across Africa.

In the cloud services sector, Mobily and BytePlus announced a joint investment of over $150 million to launch BytePlus cloud services in Saudi Arabia and provide businesses and organizations with access to advanced solutions. HPE expanded its Made in Saudi program to include integrated technology solutions and launched the Saudi Innovation Center in partnership with Intel. This initiative will empower startups and national talent in AI.

Nokia opened its first research and development center in the Kingdom, focusing on AI-powered network automation technologies. This expansion reflects Saudi Arabia's growing appeal for both local and international tech investments. The ecosystem is expanding, covering data centers, cloud services, R&D, and technology localization. Leap 2026 will continue until September 3 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Mulhem, gathering technology leaders, investors, innovators, and startups from across the globe.
