On Tuesday, the United States launched a series of airstrikes against Iran, leading to Iranian retaliation and escalating the already tense conflict. This recent wave of violence comes after a weekend exchange of fire and attacks on tanker ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's primary oil export route. The strikes targeted various Iranian assets in Jordan, Bahrain, and Iraq, with Iran warning that it would prevent oil exports from the Gulf despite threats from President Donald Trump to retaliate harshly.

Five individuals were killed and 50 wounded when a wedding party in Iran was targeted. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that the U.S. attacks would "tighten the lock" on the Strait of Hormuz, which carries one-fifth of the world's oil. Iranian President Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf stated that no one would be able to export oil from the Persian Gulf if the enemy did not allow them to do so.

Iranian officials reported numerous strikes across multiple locations in Iran, including missile attacks near Ahvaz, Jiroft airport, Chabahar, Qeshm Island, and a drone attack on a U.S. base in Bahrain. In response, the IRGC claimed to have retaliated by launching a ballistic missile attack against a U.S. base in Jordan, though no casualties were reported.

The U.S. military stated that it completed a wave of strikes against IRGC targets, including air defense sites, radar systems, and communications infrastructure. Despite these actions, neither the U.S. nor Iran have shown signs of backing down from their positions, with the conflict continuing to impact global energy markets and geopolitical tensions.
