Iran strikes back against latest US attacks

Iran retaliated against recent US attacks in the Middle East on Wednesday, vowing severe consequences for renewed aggression. The conflict intensified with strikes on US interests in the Strait of Hormuz and military bases in the region, drawing in US Gulf allies. Iran claimed to have launched missile attacks on two US bases in Jordan, though the Jordanian army reported intercepting 10 missiles with no reported injuries.

Additional missile and drone strikes were reported in Kuwait and Bahrain, targeting US forces. Iran's Revolutionary Guards also struck US bases in Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region, destroying equipment. The escalation began when the US struck Iranian targets in Jordan and the UAE on Sunday, prompting Iran to target US troops in those areas and oil tankers.

Seven people were killed and eight wounded in a missile attack in southern Khuzestan province. Iran's Red Crescent reported shrapnel from a US missile killed four, including a child, in Hormozgan province. Despite the ongoing conflict, Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian vowed to match any US move, warning a return to pressure and threats could derail diplomatic efforts.
