Huawei takes Korean, Japanese students inside real-world tech

For 14 university students from Korea and Japan, a week-long trip to China provided an unparalleled opportunity to witness emerging technologies transitioning from theory to reality. Huawei Korea's Seeds for the Future 2026 program, held August 23-30 in Dongguan and Shenzhen, brought together nine Korean students and five Japanese students for intensive training and hands-on field activities centered around information and communications technology.

The Korean participants hailed from Ajou University, Hanyang University, and Yonsei University, while the Japanese participants were chosen from the University of Tokyo, Waseda University, and Keio University. Throughout the program, students delved into courses covering artificial intelligence, 5G technology, digital power technologies, and cloud computing.

In addition to classroom learning, the students embarked on field visits to Huawei's research and development facilities and technology exhibition spaces. These excursions allowed the students to observe firsthand how the technologies discussed in their courses are implemented in various equipment and systems. Moreover, the field visits provided a unique chance for the students to engage directly with researchers, asking them about the development and commercialization processes of these cutting-edge technologies.
