Huawei takes Korean, Japanese students inside real-world tech

For 14 university students from Korea and Japan, a week-long trip to China in August provided a unique opportunity to witness the transformation of emerging technologies from theory to reality. Huawei Korea announced on Wednesday that its Seeds for the Future 2026 program, held from August 23 to 30 in Dongguan and Shenzhen, China, brought together nine Korean students and five Japanese students for intensive training and hands-on field activities centered around information and communications technology (ICT).

The Korean students were enrolled at Ajou University, Hanyang University, and Yonsei University, while the Japanese participants hailed from the University of Tokyo, Waseda University, and Keio University. Throughout the program, participants engaged in courses covering artificial intelligence, 5G technology, digital power technologies, and cloud computing.

In addition to classroom instruction, the students had the chance to visit Huawei's research and development facilities and technology exhibition spaces. These field visits allowed the students to observe firsthand how the technologies discussed in their courses are implemented in real-world equipment and systems. During these visits, participants also had the opportunity to engage with Huawei researchers, asking questions about the development and commercialization processes behind these cutting-edge technologies.
