Anthropic back on 'right side' with Trump administration, US Commerce secretary says

U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has stated that artificial intelligence company Anthropic is once again on the right side with the Trump administration, according to an Axios report. This comes after a U.S. judge ruled in Anthropic's favor in their dispute with the American military over AI safety on the battlefield. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had previously blocked Anthropic from certain military contracts due to the company's refusal to permit usage of their Claude AI models for domestic surveillance or autonomous weapons.

Anthropic subsequently sued in a California court. The company and Commerce Department have not yet commented on the matter.
