1 lagi suspek ditahan kes warga emas maut disamun di Teluk Intan

Police in Perak have apprehended a 26-year-old man in connection with the murder of an elderly male goldfish enthusiast in Teluk Intan on April 17th last year. Chua Kok Lian, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police for Perak, announced the arrest on August 26th. The 26-year-old was detained in Klang, Selangor following ongoing police efforts to track down and apprehend individuals believed to be involved in the crime.

The suspect was charged in court on May 7th with four co-defendants and faces trial at the Teluk Intan Magistrate Court on September 2nd. Further investigations revealed the suspect will be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code in conjunction with Section 34 of the Offenses Against the Person Act. The suspect is currently in police custody and is scheduled to appear before the court.

Chua reiterated that efforts to monitor and take decisive action against any individuals involved in criminal activities will continue to ensure they are brought to justice. He urged the public to provide any relevant information regarding criminal activities to assist in maintaining public safety and security, particularly in the Perak Hilir region.

On April 17th, media reported that an elderly goldfish enthusiast was killed in a sharp weapon assault believed to be a knife during a raid by a group of men at a residence in Pekan Baru, Teluk Intan. The victim sustained injuries to both hands before succumbing to his injuries at the scene. Subsequently, four men were charged at the Teluk Intan Magistrate Court on May 7th with the charge of murdering an elderly male involved in using a sharp weapon believed to be a knife.
