You can’t condemn cheaper living proposal, rename it Renewed Hope – Atiku tells Tinubu

On Tuesday, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), contended that President Bola Tinubu cannot criticize his proposal for a reduced cost of living and simultaneously rebrand it as "Renewed Hope." In a statement signed by Atiku's Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku highlighted the economic inconsistency in condemning his proposal while pursuing similar objectives.

The statement emphasized that Atiku is focused on engaging with more critical Nigerians, such as mothers struggling to feed their children and students grappling with debt. Atiku accused Tinubu of ignoring the hardship endured by Nigerians over the past three years, including rising transportation costs, soaring food prices, and crippling energy expenses.

He questioned why Nigerians had to suffer for so long before Tinubu's government decided to address economic growth. Atiku declared that condemning cheaper living when Atiku proposes it and naming the same objective "Renewed Hope" when announced by Tinubu is not economically consistent; it is merely political convenience.
