Woman killed in Times Square stabbing identified as Bank of America executive

A Bank of America executive was fatally stabbed during an attack in New York City's Times Square. CBS News' Jared Ocacher reports.

Erin Piacenti, a 32-year-old resident of Chester, New Jersey, tragically lost her life in a knife assault that occurred in Times Square on Monday. The victim was stabbed by Pamela Cisneros, a 49-year-old woman from Queens, just moments before a fatal police shooting took place. The attack happened at the intersection of 41st Street and Seventh Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Cisneros was heard shouting, "I’m over this, I’m over this," moments before launching the unprovoked assault.

Authorities reported that she had been involved in previous documented interactions with the NYPD in 2018 and 2019. Cisneros had a history of mental illness and retrieved two knives from a Target bag to carry out the attack. After being tased, she allegedly charged at the officers wielding knives, leading to the police shooting her. The 68-year-old victim was also stabbed and is expected to recover from his injuries.
