Valencia sign Liverpool's Elliott on loan

Liverpool midfielder Elliott signs with Valencia on loan until the end of the season. The 23-year-old has expressed his excitement to play regularly and experience a different league during his loan spell. Valencia did not indicate any intention to permanently sign the player at the conclusion of the season. Elliott arrived in Spain earlier on Monday night to finalize his move following an agreement between Liverpool and Valencia.

This is Elliott's second consecutive loan spell away from Liverpool, having spent last season at Aston Villa. He was previously part of the England Under-21 squad. Elliott's contract with Liverpool extends until 2028, and he began his time at Liverpool from Fulham at the age of 16 in 2019. He had a previous loan stint with Blackburn Rovers in the Championship during the 2020-21 season.

Valencia did not secure a spot in European competitions after finishing ninth in La Liga last season, currently sitting at 16th place after losing all three of their opening matches.
