Valencia sign Liverpool's Elliott on loan

Liverpool has made a final attempt to sign Chelsea defender Malo Gusto on loan for the current day, according to reports from Fabrice Hawkins. Liverpool's manager, Andoni Iraola, is in search of a new right-back for the team. Gusto has been on Liverpool's radar for some time now. Despite this, the Reds were unable to come to an agreement with Chelsea for the France international.

Liverpool's interest is in a straight loan deal for the 23-year-old player, but Chelsea is only interested in selling him. The Merseyside club does not have the financial flexibility to complete a permanent deal for Gusto this summer, having spent over £200 million on new signings like Jeremy Jacquet, Victor Munoz, and Bradley Barcola, with Ronald Araujo joining on loan from Barcelona.

It remains unclear whether Liverpool will pursue another right-back signing in the upcoming hours or wait until the winter or next summer. The club had initially targeted English international Djed Spence, who eventually transferred from Tottenham Hotspur to Inter Milan. Iraola has started the season with Jeremie Frimpong as his preferred choice for the right-back position, with the Netherlands international playing in the opening two Premier League games. An upgrade in the right-back department could be beneficial for Iraola.
