Valencia sign Liverpool's Elliott on loan

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has agreed to a loan deal with Spanish club Valencia until the end of the season. According to BBC Sport, there are no plans for Valencia to make the 23-year-old permanently permanent at the end of the campaign. Elliott, who joined Liverpool from Fulham at 16 in 2019, spent last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.

He was left out of the squads for Liverpool's matches against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest under the new head coach Andoni Iraola. Elliott's contract with Liverpool runs until 2028. Valencia, who failed to qualify for European competitions last season after finishing ninth in La Liga, currently sits 16th in the table after losing all three of their opening games.
