The Malaysian Department of Registration Services (JPN) has advised the public that there is no urgent need to apply for a replacement or reissue of MyKad during the transitional period, which is expected to last until September 7th. Kuala Lumpur: The Department of Registration Services (JPN) is currently undergoing a transition from the existing MyKad structure to the new MyKad Generation, which is anticipated to cause temporary disruptions to MyKad printing services nationwide.

According to a statement issued today, the temporary disruptions to MyKad printing services are expected to begin today and continue until September 7th. Consequently, JPN has advised the public, who do not have an urgent need to replace or reissue their MyKad, to postpone any such matters until the conclusion of the aforementioned period.

"For first-time applications for MyKad for children aged 12 years and below, parents or guardians are also encouraged to wait for a short period to enable their children to receive the MyKad Generation once the issuance commences in the near future," stated the aforementioned statement. Simultaneously, JPN expresses gratitude for the patience and cooperation of the public throughout the process of the structural change in the identity card and extends its apologies for any inconvenience that may arise.
