Tennessee Football Applauded for its Dolly Parton Tribute

In Parton's home state of Tennessee, the Tennessee Volunteers football team has paid tribute to the beloved artist with a new sticker for players' helmets. The commemorative sticker, worn by players for every game this season, features a butterfly in Volunteer orange and Parton's signature running down the center.

Fans, not just of Tennessee but of the sport and Parton in general, have praised the sticker's design, expressing their desire for it to be made publicly available. Thomas Maner responded to Tennessee's post, highlighting the sticker's popularity and the potential for high demand. The sticker represents a significant tribute to Parton's legacy, particularly her Imagination Library, a book gifting program that has reached children in multiple countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, and Australia.

As of 2024, the program has distributed over 200 million books, with more than one in seven American children under the age of 5 receiving a book monthly. Tennessee Volunteers head coach Josh Huepel recently expressed his condolences for Parton's passing, acknowledging her impact on the world and her deep connection to East Tennessee. Huepel emphasized that the team will wear the sticker on the back of their helmets to recognize Parton's accomplishments and her impact on the state.
