Odell Beckham Jr. Makes Giants Roster After Fighting His Way Back to New York

Odell Beckham Jr. has officially returned to the New York Giants roster after battling his way back to the NFL. The wide receiver, who reached his 33rd year of age, had taken a season off following his time with the Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens, and Miami Dolphins. Beckham's roster spot was not guaranteed until the final week of training camp.

New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh acknowledged that Beckham had done enough to secure a spot on the team, and on Sunday, Beckham learned of his inclusion during a casual conversation following a preseason game. Former Giants receiver Beckham expressed his excitement and commitment, stating he will give all he has to the team.

He participated in three preseason games, catching seven of his 13 targets for 76 yards, despite not scoring any touchdowns. While Beckham's return is not driven by impressive preseason numbers, it stems from his desire to prove his efficiency, especially with injuries to Malik Nabers and Calvin Austin III leaving the Giants with limited experienced receivers.

Beckham's return holds significant importance for the Giants, as he is their all-time leader in receiving touchdowns with 44, just five behind franchise record holder Kyle Rote. The Giants open their regular season against the Dallas Cowboys on September 13, with Beckham's availability still uncertain.
