Supreme Court quashes all FIRs across the country against NEET paper leak protesters

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court used its special Article 142 powers to cancel all First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against students involved in protests against the NEET examination controversy, the government announced. This decision followed the government's request to the court to annul the cases registered against protesters in Delhi, promising that students would not be unfairly targeted or harassed during the agitation.

Earlier, the government had sought the quashing of 13 FIRs in Delhi connected to the NEET paper leak protests, along with permission to file a new FIR against 2,873 individuals present at the protest site to determine their potential involvement in violence. The court's intervention came as the issue of FIRs had become a crucial demand raised by the protesters.
