S'pore couple partially undressed at JB massage spa, but man allegedly opened door to private room

Two women, aged 40, have warned others about visiting a Johor Bahru massage spa, following an incident where a man allegedly opened the door of their private room while they were partially undressed. The pair shared their experience on social media on August 31, along with a photo of a police car outside the establishment in Taman Sri Tebrau. They had booked two-hour sessions, with the women in a private room and the other two, their sister and niece, sharing a VIP room.

According to the women, about 35 minutes into the massage, a man in a white short-sleeved shirt went upstairs and began shouting that he was looking for a driver. However, he did not provide any identifying details, such as a vehicle registration number, before opening the doors of multiple private rooms to look inside. The women stated that their door was among those opened, while they were lying face-down and partially undressed. The man was eventually chased away by a massage therapist.

Later, another man knocked on the VIP room occupied by the women's sister and niece, claiming he wanted to take a pillow. The women's sister stopped the massage, got dressed, and went out to report the incident to the spa's operator. The women and their husband rejected any compensation offered by the spa, emphasizing that the incident was not about money but about ensuring proper reporting and investigation.

The women contacted the Malaysia police, who took their passport details and instructed them to file a report at Balai Pelangi. While at the police station, a representative from the spa arrived to help identify the man who opened their door. However, the women and their husband disagreed with the identification, citing different accents and their own account. They refused to sign the initial statement prepared in Malay, as they believed it did not accurately reflect their experience.

The women also reviewed CCTV footage, which they felt did not clearly capture who entered the individual massage rooms. They expressed concern that, without proper access-control procedures, establishments putting customers inside private rooms could pose a security risk. The women's experience is not the first of its kind at this spa, as a one-star Google review from three months ago also described a similar incident where a male customer opened the door of a private couple's room he was in with his wife.
