Sonos just debuted the Beam Ultra soundbar and Ace Ultra headphones — available for preorder now

Sonos has resurfaced after a challenging 2024, initiating its resurgence in April 2026 with the introduction of the Sonos Play portable speaker. Today, on September 1, the company has unveiled two fresh offerings for the home theater and personal listening markets: the Sonos Beam Ultra soundbar and the Sonos Ace Ultra headphones. Pre-orders for these products are currently open, with wide availability slated for September 29.

The Sonos Beam Ultra is positioned as an enhanced version of the existing Beam soundbar. This premium upgrade boasts nine bespoke drivers, featuring two upward-firing drivers that deliver 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos sound. The Beam Ultra also includes four AI-powered speech enhancement levels and a Night Sound mode to optimize audio during late-night usage.

While the primary focus is on enhancing home theater experiences, it can be synchronized with other Sonos speakers, including portable models, to create a comprehensive surround-sound setup.

In contrast, the Sonos Ace Ultra headphones represent the brand's latest premium iteration of its Ace line. These headphones are the first to utilize Headphone Engine 2 technology, which establishes a direct link between the headphones and the Sonos system. This integration allows for seamless audio transfer: simply press a button to stream what you're listening to on the headphones to your at-home Sonos speakers, and vice versa.

Inside, the Ace Ultra headphones feature 40mm drivers and adaptive active noise cancellation, powered by ten microphones. Moreover, Sonos touts a remarkable battery life claim of up to 35 hours, a feature eagerly anticipated for testing. The price tag for these headphones stands at $449. Both the Sonos Beam Ultra soundbar and Ace Ultra headphones are priced competitively at $699 and $449 respectively.
