Sonos Ace Ultra Headphones Get Upgraded Sound, Noise Canceling and Direct Link to Your Sonos System

Sonos' latest offering, the Ace Ultra headphones, promises a significant upgrade in sound quality, noise cancellation, and connectivity. Priced at $449, the headphones feature Sonos-designed 40-millimeter drivers and adaptive noise cancellation, marking their debut as part of the Headphone Engine 2. This engine allows for direct linking to the Sonos system with a press of a button, and to unlink with another press, offering an enhanced user experience.

The Ace Ultra headphones are available in black, soft white, agave, or sand colors and are set to ship on Sept. 29, preceding preorders today. Designed to improve upon the previous Ace model, they incorporate new rebound foam ear cushions that aim to reduce ambient noise and improve overall comfort. The key upgrades include a 10-microphone array, five in each earcup, enhancing both noise cancellation and voice-calling performance.

Weighing in at 322 grams, slightly heavier than the original Ace, the Ace Ultra supports Bluetooth 6.0 and an upgraded 5-series Qualcomm chip that facilitates SBC, AAC, and aptX Adaptive Lossless audio codecs. Additional features such as spatial audio, USB-C audio, and an improved battery life of up to 35 hours are also included.

The Ace Ultra's ability to link directly to the Sonos system with enhanced Wi-Fi hardware and secure credential storage ensures seamless audio transfer. This direct connection, facilitated by the Headphone Engine 2, allows for immediate transfer to or from the Sonos system with a simple button press.
