Russian seventh-grader attacks teacher with knife and pepper spray at a Siberian school. Seven people injured.

On a school assembly in Kansk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, a seventh-grader attacked a physics teacher with a knife, local media reports claim. The incident, which left one teacher and five students injured, transpired at School No. 2. The girl allegedly attempted to stab the teacher with the knife before spraying them with pepper spray, though another source alleges she assaulted multiple students and teachers with the knife and set a door ablaze.

Another account suggests a woman, believed to be another student’s mother, stepped in to protect the teacher and removed the girl from the classroom. The motive behind the attack has yet to be determined, and the school has not commented on the matter. Russian National Guard officers and ambulance crews arrived at the scene, and the Internal Affairs Ministry of Krasnoyarsk Krai is investigating the incident.

The regional Health Ministry confirmed that seven individuals — five children and two adults — sustained injuries during the assault. All those injured received medical attention and were referred for outpatient observation.
