Rockstar touts new invite-only Nopixel V GTA roleplaying server as the 'next evolution' of the RP community

Rockstar has unveiled Nopixel V, a new invite-only GTA 5 roleplaying server that marks an evolution in the GTA RP community. However, casual GTA RP followers may find it puzzling that Nopixel V isn't an open server just waiting for players to join. Nopixel Studios manages both public and private GTA 5 roleplaying servers, with Nopixel V being the latest iteration of their modded sandbox.

This exclusive server is accessible through the Rockstar Games Launcher, but only for invited streamers, whose names are listed on the Nopixel website. Initially, access to Nopixel V will be limited to those on the invitation list, expanding gradually through multiple phases, as announced by Nopixel on their Discord server. For now, GTA 5's public servers (nopixel Public and nopixel 4.0) remain unchanged.

Rockstar's emphasis on Nopixel V is less about the opportunity to play the server and more about the chance to watch streamers play it. While this might seem unsurprising given the standard practices in the GTA roleplaying scene, the timing of Nopixel V's release is noteworthy. With GTA 6 expected to release soon, some might have anticipated more discussion about the future of GTA roleplaying in relation to the new game.

Rockstar has yet to announce any specific plans for GTA Online in connection with GTA 6, nor has it revealed a PC release date for GTA 6. Despite the potential for in-character Vice City escapades, Nopixel V appears promising for the RP community. Nopixel's collaboration with Rockstar has been instrumental in developing Nopixel V, enhancing the GTA 5 mod with new capabilities and tools.

Invited players will begin streaming Nopixel V on September 8, and the modders are sharing updates throughout the week. The team highlights modifications to the GTA 5 map, including the addition of 1,000 ownable properties.
