Police hunt killers of Anambra comedian, one other

The Anambra State Police have launched a manhunt for unidentified gunmen who allegedly killed two men in Awka, the state capital, on Sunday night. The victims, identified as Isaac Nwosu, known as "Azia Nwosu," and an unnamed individual, were shot dead at separate locations. Nwosu was killed along S.M. Okeke Street, while the other victim was shot dead along Capital City Road.

The motive behind the killings remains unknown, though some eyewitnesses suggested it might be linked to cult-related activities. One witness claimed the assailants, believed to be three, trailed Nwosu from his residence, double-crossed his vehicle, and then shot him dead before targeting the other man. The Anambra State Police Command has intensified efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that the command had intensified its manhunt and appealed for public support. The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Ama, condemned the killings as unacceptable and ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a comprehensive investigation.
