Police hunt killers of Anambra comedian, one other

The Anambra State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the assailants who allegedly shot dead popular comedian Isaac Nwosu, also known as “Azia Nwosu,” and another unidentified man in Awka, the state capital. The victims were reportedly killed at separate locations in Awka on Sunday night by unidentified gunmen, with Nwosu killed along S.M.

Okeke Street and the other victim shot dead along Capital City Road. The motive for the killings remains unclear, though some eyewitnesses suggested that the attacks may be linked to cult-related activities. An eyewitness reported that the three gunmen, traveling in a silver-colored Toyota Corolla, followed Nwosu from his residence, double-crossed his vehicle, and then shot him dead before killing another victim and stealing his belongings.

The police have intensified efforts to identify and arrest the perpetrators, and the Commissioner of Police called for the support of the public in bringing the suspects to justice.
