Palace sign Chilwell and Timber after deadline

Crystal Palace have officially confirmed the permanent signings of Ben Chilwell and Quinten Timber, two experienced international players, after the transfer deadline passed on Tuesday at 23:00 BST.

Chilwell, an England defender, is returning to Selhurst Park following his loan spell with the club during the second half of the 2024-25 season. He joined Strasbourg from Chelsea in September 2025 and has since earned 21 caps for England.

Meanwhile, Timber, a 25-year-old Netherlands international, has joined Crystal Palace on a five-year contract. He is the brother of Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber and has made 13 appearances for the Netherlands national team.

Both players expressed excitement about reuniting with the Eagles. Chilwell, who won the FA Cup with Palace in May 2025, stated, "It's amazing to be back." Timber also shared his enthusiasm about returning to the club he loves.

Palace met the Premier League's transfer deadline requirements by submitting deal sheets, allowing them to finalise the signings and bring these talented players under their long-term ownership.
