Ferrari's Schumacher-inspired livery, F1 leader to cop penalty in Italy

Ferrari will honor Michael Schumacher at the Italian Grand Prix with a special one-off livery featuring seven stars on the car to represent his five world titles. The Scuderia's constructors championship win in 1999 and Schumacher's drivers championship triumph in 2000 marked the first time a Ferrari team had become world champions since 1979.

Ferrari has dominated the sport during Schumacher's tenure, winning five of his seven drivers championships from 2000-2004. Despite Kimi Antonelli leading the Formula 1 drivers championship with a 59-point advantage heading into the Italian Grand Prix, the championship leader will be penalized by Mercedes after changing power unit components on his car.

This penalty occurs after Mercedes announced during the Dutch Grand Prix that Antonelli would take the engine penalty this weekend, as the team's calculations suggest Monza would be the best track to take it. Monza, known as the Temple of Speed, is expected to provide ample opportunity for Antonelli to pass with his Mercedes power unit.
