It advised members of the public to disregard any information, requests, fundraising appeals or transactions originating from the site. This warning comes amid the state's earlier plans to establish a Sports Trust Fund as part of its strategy to create a sustainable financing framework for sports development in Osun. The warning aims to prevent the public from being misled by the unauthorised platform, especially given the state's public announcements about the Sports Trust Fund.

The website currently poses as the "Osun State Sports Trust Fund", offering funding and partnership opportunities, and references the Ministry of Youth & Sports. The government stressed that members of the public should not make payments, share information or respond to fundraising appeals on the platform without confirming its authenticity through official Osun State Government channels.

This incident underscores the importance of public vigilance, particularly as government-backed initiatives and fundraising platforms increasingly operate online, where fraudulent sites can imitate official programmes and institutions.
