Mudryk joins Spurs on loan from Chelsea after doping ban ends

Ukrainian forward Mykhailo Mudryk has returned to Tottenham Hotspur on loan from Chelsea following the expiration of his doping suspension. The 25-year-old winger will join the London club for the 2026/27 season, aiming to reinvigorate his career under former coach Roberto De Zerbi, who is now Tottenham's manager. De Zerbi expressed his excitement about Mudryk's decision to join the team, stating that he expects the player to deliver significant contributions.

The Football Association cleared Mudryk to play again in late July after reaching an agreement with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regarding his 2024 drug test, which resulted in a four-year ban. Mudryk, who was originally signed by Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk for £62 million ($83 million) in January 2023, made a few minutes' appearance for Chelsea during pre-season but has yet to feature in a league match this season.
