Mogotsi accuses investigating officer of being ‘personal, desperate’

Brown Mogotsi, a political fixer, testified in Johannesburg Magistrates' Court about the investigating officer's conduct in his case. Mogotsi alleged that the officer had become personal and desperate, going beyond the bounds of his role. He claimed the officer received a congratulatory call on the day of his arrest and seized his cellphone.

Mogotsi stated that these actions, along with media presence at the scene, led him to question the officer's motives. The investigating officer's allegations against him, which include staging an attempted assassination, were also under scrutiny. Mogotsi argued that the video evidence presented by the state against him was inauthentic and should be tested during the trial instead of being used to determine bail. He explicitly stated that he did not appear in any of the three videos shared with his legal team.
