Man City sign Palmeiras winger Allan for £34m

Manchester City have signed Brazilian winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras in a deal valued at up to £34.2 million. The 22-year-old forward has agreed to a five-year contract with the English club, with an initial payment of £32 million and additional add-ons totaling £2.2 million. Allan is positioned as a direct successor to Palmeiras' Savio, who recently transferred to Tottenham Hotspur for £75 million.

The right-sided player netted nine goals and provided 12 assists in 96 appearances across all competitions for Palmeiras after progressing through the club's youth ranks. Upon signing for City, Allan expressed his excitement, stating that joining the club is the "proudest moment of my life." The Brazilian acknowledged the club's illustrious history and the allure of playing for such a prestigious institution.

Allan emphasized his desire to advance his skills and achieve his full potential, crediting his conversations with City officials for helping him make the decision to join them. This acquisition marks another significant move for Manchester City in a summer transfer window that has seen the club invest over £230 million. Other notable signings include Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for £116 million and Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille for £85.6 million.

City are also in discussions to acquire Dutch forward Cody Gakpo from Liverpool and Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
