Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane Directs Fast-Tracking Of Modern Fish Markets In Malegaon, Sangli

Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane has instructed officials to rapidly advance the establishment of contemporary fish markets, cold storage facilities, and fish vending centers in Malegaon and Sangli districts. At a recent meeting, Rane emphasized the need to promptly designate a suitable location for the proposed fish market in Malegaon and present a comprehensive proposal to the state government.

He assured that the government is dedicated to pursuing the proposal and implementing necessary measures to create a modern facility, prioritizing the requirements of fishermen and fish sellers. This modern market, coupled with cold storage and fish vending facilities, is anticipated to enhance the working conditions for local fishing communities while offering citizens access to a clean and well-equipped environment for purchasing fish.

Additionally, Rane reviewed the progress of the modern fish market construction in Sangli under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. He directed officials to expedite the completion of the project and set a date for its inauguration. The modern facility in Sangli aims to improve infrastructure and organization within the fish trade, benefiting fishermen, vendors, and consumers by providing enhanced facilities.
