Three individuals sustained serious injuries when a speeding vehicle crashed into them at a petrol station near Silver City on GT Road in Ghaziabad's Kotwali area on Sunday night. The incident occurred after an argument over the vehicle being parked improperly for refuelling. The accused driver, identified as Deepu, was apprehended on Monday, according to police.

The white Maruti Swift car involved has been seized. CCTV footage reportedly captured the car colliding with a group of people before speeding away from the scene; one victim was reportedly thrown nearly five feet in the air. According to Anurag Chaudhary, the petrol pump manager, a group of apparently inebriated youths arrived at the pump around 10pm on Sunday.

A worker, Manoj Kumar, instructed the driver to position the car correctly near the fuel dispenser for refuelling. The accused is alleged to have accelerated and ploughed into Manoj and two customers, Sanjesh Kumar and Vikash Kumar. Manoj was run over while the driver fled the scene. All three victims were taken to the district hospital where they are receiving medical treatment.

Two diesel dispensing machines were also damaged in the incident. A police officer stated that an FIR had been registered against Deepu under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including rash driving, endangering human life or personal safety, and intentional property damage.
