Fall storm to bring heavy rain along B.C. coast, parts of Vancouver Island

A major storm is set to drench the coastal regions of British Columbia and portions of Vancouver Island as the season's inaugural storm approaches. Environment Canada has issued a special weather advisory for B.C.'s northern and central coasts, encompassing locations like Prince Rupert, Kitimat, and Bella Bella, as well as the west coast of Vancouver Island, from Zeballos in the north to Sooke near Victoria.

The storm is anticipated to bring substantial rainfall on Tuesday, potentially causing localized flooding and escalating the threat of landslides. Winds are expected to reach their peak on Tuesday night. The BC Wildfire Service notes that while the province will experience "fall-like" weather with higher relative humidity and typical autumn temperatures, drought conditions persist in southern interior and southeastern B.C.
