Bank of America executive identified as victim of stabbing in Times Square

Bank of America executive Erin Piacenti, 32, was fatally stabbed in Times Square on Monday, according to the New York City police department. The incident, which occurred in broad daylight, occurred in the bustling heart of Manhattan's crowded streets, causing a halt in traffic as emergency vehicles swarmed the area. Piacenti was a vice-president in the bank’s business selection and conflicts unit.

The US banking company expressed deep sorrow over the loss of their colleague, stating that she was greatly missed by her family and loved ones.

Piacenti, who earned her law degree from Fordham Law School in 2021, had been with Bank of America for 18 months. Her LinkedIn profile confirmed her position as a vice-president in the business selection and conflicts unit. The school where she graduated alongside her husband, Frank, expressed their heartbreak over her death.

During the attack, a 68-year-old man also sustained stab wounds in the incident and was in stable condition. The attacker turned out to be a 49-year-old woman named Pamela Cisneros, who was found with two large knives. The NYPD's commissioner, Jessica Tisch, stated that the attack appeared to be random and unprovoked. When officers arrived on the scene, Cisneros brandished the knives and advanced toward them.

Officers attempted to subdue her with a stun gun but were unable to persuade her to drop the weapons, leading to her being shot and pronounced dead.
