UAE weather: Temperatures to hit 49°C Monday before rain chances return Tuesday

The National Centre of Meteorology in the United Arab Emirates predicts temperatures soaring to 49°C in the country's inland regions on Monday. This extreme heat, accompanied by blowing dust and rising humidity, will be followed by a more unsettled weather pattern beginning Tuesday. On Monday, the weather is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with light to moderate winds that may occasionally gust up to 40 km/h, particularly in inland areas. The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will remain calm during this period.

During the day, inland temperatures are anticipated to swing between 44°C and 49°C, while coastal areas and islands will experience highs of 40°C to 45°C. Mountainous regions, however, may see lower temperatures, ranging from 30°C to 37°C. As the night progresses and into Tuesday morning, humidity is set to rise, which could lead to fog or mist developing over some coastal and inland locales.

The weather is expected to start altering on Tuesday, with convective clouds forming over eastern areas in the afternoon, potentially bringing rainfall. Temperatures are also projected to plummet, especially in the western parts of the UAE. Winds could once again gust up to 40 km/h, and the Arabian Gulf may become rougher in western waters. The Oman Sea, meanwhile, is projected to stay relatively calm.

The likelihood of rain will persist into Wednesday, with convective clouds again possible over eastern areas during the afternoon. Humidity overnight could result in mist across certain coastal and internal areas, while fresh winds may stir up blowing dust in the western regions. A further decrease in temperatures is forecast on Thursday, when rain-bearing clouds could once more materialize over eastern parts of the UAE.

Fog or mist may develop overnight and persist into Friday morning, while winds could once more reach 40 km/h. By Friday, the weather is expected to remain fair to partly cloudy, with occasional haziness and another chance of convective clouds and rainfall in eastern areas during the afternoon.
