Nepal floods LIVE: High alert sounded as water rises in Bhotekoshi; race against time to find 3,000 missing

At least 939 people have died and over 4,000 are still missing after deadly floods hit the Nepal-Tibet border. Nepal's foreign ministry reported that 886 people have been rescued, while search and rescue efforts continue. The ministry highlighted that 400 foreign nationals are among those reported missing.

Residents in Nepal received fresh flood warnings on their mobile phones as water levels in the Bhotekoshi River rose. Chinese authorities alerted their Nepalese counterparts of increased water flow upstream, raising concerns of a high risk of flash floods in Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts.

Many countries have sent rescue teams to help. India has delivered over 68 tonnes of emergency relief supplies to Nepal via four military flights. The 14th Dalai Lama offered special prayers for the victims of the devastating floods in Tibet and Nepal. Rescuers are working to save hundreds of workers trapped inside tunnels at hydropower projects damaged by floods, as the death toll has risen to 950 and more than 4,400 remain missing.
