Taiwan investigates Nvidia supplier Unimicron over alleged forgery

Taiwanese authorities have launched an investigation into Chinese PCB supplier Unimicron, alleging that the company may have been involved in forgery by using "made in Taiwan" labels on products. According to the Taoyuan District Prosecutors Office, 18 individuals were questioned, including 14 employees from Unimicron, as well as four witnesses.

The accused are suspected of violating Taiwan's criminal code regarding forging private documents and falsely labeling goods. Bail has been set ranging from $9,500 to $470,000 for five of the defendants, while the remaining 13 were released. Unimicron confirmed to the Taiwan stock exchange that its offices were searched and stated that it would fully cooperate with the prosecutors.

This investigation follows recent allegations of illegal AI server transfers to China involving Nvidia, Supermicro, and other companies.
