MAHA 2026 attracts 1.8 million visitors, records RM6m sales in three days

Serdang, August 31 — The inaugural three days of the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 have seen a staggering 1.8 million visitors and nearly RM6 million in sales, according to Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu. He revealed that 184,000 vehicles entered and exited the exhibition grounds during this period, indicating significant traffic due to the massive turnout.

Mohamad disclosed that MAHA 2026 aims to achieve sales of at least RM58 million, with crop seeds purchases expected to contribute to this figure. "Three days in, MAHA's visitor count stands at 1.8 million, with 184,000 vehicles entering and exiting, signifying immense traffic in the vicinity," he informed reporters after launching Laman Padi MAHA 2026 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).

Addressing transportation challenges arising from the influx of visitors, Mohamad highlighted increased shuttle services and further enhancements planned based on requirements. He also mentioned that a daily meeting of the relevant committee is held to address visitor complaints and devise solutions to ensure the event's smooth running.

Mohamad noted that long queues were observed outside state pavilions, prompting him to inform management about implementing swift visitor transportation, especially considering the current hot weather. He emphasized that MAHA's popularity is attributed to the various programs held throughout the event, such as the MAHA Merdeka celebrations yesterday, which included fireworks and drone shows to commemorate National Day.

Scheduled to run from August 28 to September 6 at MAEPS, MAHA 2026 will feature approximately 2,000 exhibitors and has targeted over four million visitors.
