Spurs star Richarlison braces for Everton switch after transfer ‘turmoil’

Tottenham striker Richarlison is preparing to rejoin Everton following a tumultuous period in his career. The Brazil international had a strained relationship with the north London club, where he struggled to make an impact since his move four years ago.

Everton are in discussions with Tottenham over a potential transfer deal to bring Richarlison back to Merseyside. Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi claimed that Richarlison was left out of the squad for a recent match due to his repeated requests to leave the club. However, Richarlison took to Instagram to refute De Zerbi's claims, stating that he had decided he would never again allow anyone to dictate his future.

Richarlison shared that he had faced numerous challenges over the past few years, with many of them stemming from decisions made by others. He emphasized that pressure, threats, and retaliation did not intimidate him, as he had faced worse difficulties in the past. The striker reiterated that he had always made it clear that he would only leave a club if it was also in the club's best interest.

He expressed disappointment that the negotiations did not unfold as he had hoped, but affirmed his intention to return to Everton, where he previously played from 2018 to 2022.

Despite the ongoing transfer turmoil, Richarlison is still under contract with Tottenham and committed to remaining available for the club. The 29-year-old has scored 12 goals during the 2025-26 season as Tottenham narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League.
