Muhyiddin sambut baik ikhtiar kerajaan ringan beban rakyat

Former Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin expressed satisfaction with the government's announcement of several measures to alleviate the burden of living costs for the Malaysian people, aid to the business sector, and improve the delivery of public services. He revealed that returning the RON95 subsidy cap from 200 liters to 300 liters per month, and raising the threshold for the e-Invoicing waiver to businesses expected to generate RM3 million yearly, could benefit the public and businesses facing increased costs.

Muhyiddin stressed the importance for the relevant ministries and government agencies to swiftly channel funds and ensure that every deserving individual and business receives the aid. He hoped that the announced steps would be followed by more comprehensive measures to alleviate the burden of living costs, assist businesses, and stimulate economic growth through the 2027 Budget.

Additional measures include an extra RM500 million for school development, digital health services, and access to artificial intelligence for students, which are expected to enhance the quality of public service delivery in education, healthcare, and the digital economy.

Furthermore, Muhyiddin mentioned that an additional RM1 billion in micro-loans for small businesses and a RM200 million grant for small shopkeepers, night market vendors, and home-based entrepreneurs would help boost entrepreneurship, particularly for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. The Prime Minister also proposed that the government review the criteria for fuel subsidies and rationalize subsidies that directly impact the costs borne by the public.

Just the previous day, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced six immediate relief measures for the public, including fuel subsidies, school development, AI, digital health, e-Invoicing, and micro-financing, which would come into effect the following day.
