Kian Ming keluar DAP

Former Bangi MP Ong Kian Ming announced his resignation from DAP and declared he has no intention to join another political party or contest in the 2016 General Election. He expressed his commitment to fulfilling his promise to support former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin in his PRU16 campaign, should he be nominated. In a notification letter to DAP's Chief Secretary, Loke Siew Fook, Ong said he is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the party and the nation through various means since joining DAP in 2012.

Ong served as Serdang MP from 2013 to 2018, Bangi MP from 2018 to 2022, Interim Minister of International Trade and Industry (2018 - 2020), Executive Committee Member of DAP (2019 - 2022) and Selangor DAP Executive Committee Member (2018 - 2024). He expressed his gratitude to former Serdang MP Tony Pua for inviting him to join DAP and for guiding him on the best way to serve the party and the nation over the past 14 years.

Ong also thanked former DAP Chief Secretary Lim Guan Eng for giving him the chance to be nominated for the Serdang and Bangi parliamentary seats, in addition to being appointed as Health Minister's deputy. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation for working alongside DAP members and leaders in Serdang and Bangi during his 2013 to 2022 tenure as a Member of Parliament, serving their constituents as their people's representative.

Ong reiterated that he will continue to serve the nation's interests through other means, including audio commentary, through various advisory roles and collaborating with like-minded individuals.
