The University of Dubai Cyber Defense Competition 2026, a collaboration between Tech Firm Technology LLC and the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC), is set to return for its second edition. The competition, aimed at UAE university students aged 17 and above, will be held at GISEC Global 2026 in Expo City Dubai on 18 September 2026. Over 300 applications were received for the inaugural 2025 edition, with 130 students participating in three days of qualification rounds.
This year's competition will be a team event, modeled after the real-world tasks of cybersecurity professionals. Teams will analyze real-world incidents, develop practical solutions, and present them to industry experts. The competition will focus on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies, allowing students to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges. The top five teams will compete for the top three positions in the live final, with a prize pool of AED 20,000.
Industrial Partners such as AMD, Dahua Technology, Kaspersky, KERNO, and M1 Global Infrastructure, along with Gold Partners like Anker Innovations, Circularo, HPE, Huawei, KnowBe4, RAS Infotech, and Spire Solutions, will support the event.
